The model gets caught in the Headlights in Santiago And Mauricio Sierra’s high Fashion Short

Heidi Mount makes a play for best-dressed damsel in distress in neo-noir film Invitro, the latest from sibling directors Santiago and Mauricio Sierra. Inhabiting the role of a mannequin held captive behind a store window, the model wears a series of intricate Chinoiserie-inspired ensembles selected by stylist Patrick Mackie from Louis Vuitton’s spring collection. Otherworldly hair by Ashley Javier and an exaggerated visage by make-up artist Benjamin Puckey act as an aesthetic portal to David Lynch territory, where the dream of fashion conflates with a feverish unreality. “We wanted to create a scenario in which we could analyze the colors, textures and mood of the collection,” explains Mexico City native Santiago Sierra, who has worked with the likes of Inez and Vinoodh and Mert & Marcus. “It’s about desirability and unattainability,” adds Mackie, referencing the fragile glass divide that keeps the luxe fantasy just out of reach.
